Classes and Events
The Mindful Awareness Research Center has a variety of classes that will help develop of strengthen meditation practices. MARC does offer speciality classes for seniors, teens and mental health professionals.
Current science supports the benefit of mindfulness for a variety of physical and mental health conditions, and for the general challenges of life in the 21st century. Research shows mindfulness can impact life positively in the following ways:

- Reduce chronic physical pain
- Boost the immune system
- Reduce emotional reactivity
- Increase self-awareness

Classes MARC offers include:

MAPs or Mindful Awareness Practices are the signature educational programs of the Mindful Awareness Research Center. These six-week class series are open to the public and to all UCLA staff, faculty, and students. The classes lay the foundation for students to understand basic principles of mindfulness, develop a personal meditation practice, and to apply the principles in their daily life on an ongoing basis.
