I have some experience with meditation, what class should I take?
The MAPs I for Daily Living Program is an excellent introduction to mindfulness. You will learn mindfulness meditation practices including sitting, walking meditations, and how to work with difficult thoughts and emotions. These practices develop greater mind-body awareness and reduce stress. You will learn how to incorporate mindful awareness in to your daily life.
You may have experience in another meditation tradition. Mindfulness is different than other meditations so we recommend that you start with MAPs for Daily Living.
Our second level classes deepen an already existing practice. Classes involve longer meditations. If you have taken a MAPs for Daily Living class with us you are welcome to join the advanced level classes.
If are an experienced meditation practitioner or have your own mindful practice an advanced level class may be suitable for you. Please call our office at 310-206-7503 or email Cathy to make sure.

How can I find out more about work exchange, scholarships?
We offer some work exchange. A volunteer shall be considered as any individual, who assists with work done for MARC, without remuneration. Volunteers will have event costs waived. You will have to pay for your CME credits, or books, course material, etc. if applicable, however. You will have to pay for parking. You will need to pre-register for your class/event of interest. This insures your space in the class/event but does not necessarily guarantee work exchange. You will recieve an email confirmation for your work exchange. Please call or email to request work exchange, marcinfo@ucla.edu, 310-206-7503.
We offer some scholarships to help offset the cost of classes and events. We request you send us an "Ask Letter". This is paragraph or so explaining your need and why taking this class is important to you. These are granted in very limited numbers and are on a first-come first serve basis. You will need to pre-register for your class/event of interest. This insures your space in the class/event but does not necessarily gurantee your scholarship. The decision on scholarships will be made prior to the start date. You will receive a call or email confirming your scholarship. Please call or email for more information or to submit your "Ask Letter", marcinfo@ucla.edu, 310-206-7503.
